Today's storm is tapering off a bit, though some snowfall is predicted to continue into tonight. Parts of the state saw more than a foot. There was also flooding in many coastal communities. Now, crews are working to clear the roads for tomorrow. Gov. Charlie Baker says those who can should stay home.

"The temperatures are forecasted to drop quickly, posing a threat for flash freezes. Everyone needs to stay off the roads overnight if they can," Baker said. "Road crews need to be able to do their jobs before it freezes. Our goal is to get people moving again, but we need your help to expedite the process and ensure the safest conditions for drivers and commuters in the following days."

Many of Massachusetts coastal communities flooded during today's snowstorm, with waters covering streets in Boston, on the North and South Shore, as well as Cape Cod. But Baker says that the worst of it has passed.

"While some areas of the Commonwealth may see flooding stick around for a day or so, another major surge, at least according to the Weather Service, is not anticipated," he said.

An extremely high-tide contributed to today's flooding. No deaths or injuries have been reported.
