Boston Globe's Pulitzer Prize-winning art critic Sebastian Smee joined Margery Eagan and Jared Bowen to discuss his new book, The Art of Rivalry.  Smee tells the story  of  four pairs of artists—Manet and Degas, Picasso and Matisse, Pollock and de Kooning, Freud and Bacon—whose competitive friendships pushed them into creative breakthroughs.

You can catch Sebastian Smee at the Harvard Bookstore tonight,  Thursday September 1, at 7:00 PM.
