Hillary Clinton on Friday chose U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia as her running mate for the 2016 ticket. Kaine spent time as a missionary worker in Honduras, personally (not politically) opposes abortion, and has been described as a “Pope Francis Catholic”— extremely devout, spiritual, and strongly influenced by the Jesuit order. For this week’s All Revved Up, Reverends Irene Monroe and Emmett G. Price III examined what it would mean to put a so-called ‘Pope Francis Catholic’ in the white house.

Emmett G. Price III is a Professor and the Founding Executive Director of the Institute for the Study of the Black Christian Experience at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Rev. Irene Monroe is a syndicated religion columnist who writes forHuffington Post andBay Windows. To hear their full interview with Boston Public Radio, click on the audio link above.
