Winifred Lenihan
Vice President for Development
Win Lenihan is WGBH’s Vice President for Development, leading the organization’s major philanthropic fundraising, planned and high-level annual giving and capital campaigns as well as its board development activities. During her time at WGBH, Lenihan has directed three successful capital campaigns, each of which set new fundraising and engagement benchmarks for the organization. She is spearheading the current capital campaign, which launched its public phase in 2018.

Throughout the public media system, Lenihan has played a leading role in helping local stations build a culture of philanthropy at the individual level—raising their sights beyond membership to attract and retain philanthropic benefactors. She has served on PBS’s Development Advisory Committee and regularly provides her expert guidance to stations around the country as they look to evolve and maximize their community support. Locally, Lenihan serves on the Board of Directors of the Cambridge Community Foundation.

Lenihan began her development career in WGBH’s membership office in the 1980s after earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Classics and Comparative Literature from Beloit College.
