Lead Gift Shop Volunteer

Currently, we are looking for a lead volunteer:

The Lead Gift Shop Volunteer oversees the operation of the WGBH Headquarters retail shop, located in the lobby of WGBH's studios at One Guest Street in Boston's Brighton neighborhood.

• Previous experience with customer service required
• Experience managing retail operation helpful
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Familiarity with computers and cash/credit handling and procedures.
• Must be able lift up to 20 pounds
• Must have ability to stand for periods of time and to use a small stepladder.
• May be asked to participate in CORI screening
• Must be at least 18 years of age; college experience preferred.

• Schedule volunteers to staff the Gift Shop
• Train new volunteers to help out in Shop
• Run register and checkout merchandise
• Inventory product and stock necessary products
• Maintain display area; create new displays
• Greet customers and answer questions
• Price products
• Open and close shop
• Process memberships

• Minimum of one year volunteer commitment
• Commit to two-three days per week; will need to be available for special events on evenings and weekends
