Downton AbbeyWGBH's Masterpiece received four awards at the 63rd Primetime Emmy® Awards Sunday, September 18 in LA, with all four prizes going to Downton Abbey, including the statue for Outstanding Miniseries or Movie (WGBH executive producer Rebecca Eaton was among those on stage for this honor).

"Lightning doesn't strike often in television these days, but it certainly did for Downton Abbey," says Rebecca. "We are over the moon that the Academy has honored this series we all love. It's a big win for Downton Abbey, Masterpiece, and PBS." Downton Abbey also won for Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or Dramatic Special (Julian Fellowes); Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries (Maggie Smith); and Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special (Brian Percival).

On September 11, Downton Abbey picked up two Creative Arts Emmys. American Experience's Freedom Riders received three Emmys, including a special juried award for Exceptional Merit in Nonfiction Filmmaking.
