Middlesex County 4H Fife and Drum Corps 2:30pm: Middlesex County 4H Fife and Drum Corps

The MC4HF&D) was founded in 1972 in order to pass on New England’s fife and drum tradition to young musicians. The group’s repertoire consists of fife and drum music dating from the American colonial period through the 19th century, as well as more modern tunes written in the ancient music style. The youth-led Corps, made up of 31 musicians ages 8 to 18, performs in parades and at historical commemorations throughout New England and the east coast. They have performed at Boston’s First Night festivities, in Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia, and are the honor corps at the annual Patriot’s Day ceremonies in Concord. In July, 2004, MC4HF&D was featured at the Democratic National Convention in Boston. In January 2007, the Corps performed at the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City. Proud to carry a part of America’s early musical heritage into the 21st century, the Corps embodies Youthful Patriotism, as reflected in its motto: Remembering Our History, and Playing It Loud.
Alastair Moock 3pm: Alastair Moock

"A Cow Says Moock" is Alastair Moock’s sixth album and first specifically for kids and families. The album, inspired by the birth of his twin daughters, is clearly a departure for Moock, but longtime fans will not be surprised by this new direction. Alastair has been working with and performing for kids for manyyears between stints on the road. The songs on "A Cow" blend tradition, tenderness, and inspired silliness. There is a distinct arc to the album — building up and releasing steam as it moves along, and finally giving way to a sweet slumber at the end.
