Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman
Cats? I Thought You Said Kites!
Part game show, part reality TV, and part spoof, Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman features real kids, real challenges, real science, and an unreal animated dog named Ruff Ruffman. The series mixes live action with animation and breaks the mold with its educational and comical take on America's newest television genre. Targeting 6- to 10-year-olds, the series is spontaneous, unscripted, and full of surprises. Fetch! is produced by WGBH.
Each episode follows one or more of the kids as they embark on mystery assignments, concocted by host Ruff, to test their determination, their daring, and their intellect. True to the reality TV format, the kids have no idea what they are getting into until they go on their challenges, and if things aren't exciting enough, Ruff throws in an unexpected twist to up the ante. At the end of each episode, Ruff awards points and declares a daily winner. And for the season finale, the contestant with the most points wins what, according to Ruff, is a fabulous grand prize!
Cats? I Thought You Said Kites!
Ruff is excited because he thinks that this episode is all about kites — until he gets a call from his boss, Henry, who wants the show to be about cats. Ruff has no choice but to give airtime to cats as he challenges Taylor and Anna to train a cat to fetch. Meanwhile, Noah and Brian must design, build, and fly a kite that will lift a dog biscuit in the air and land it on the front porch of Charlene, the poodle next door.
