Brendan plays the music of Chicago blues pioneer Big Bill Broonzy (born William Lee Conley Broonzy on June 26, 1893, in Scott, Miss.). Broonzy was part of the first wave of Chicago blues stars from the 1930s and '40s, and he became popular with bourgeois crowds in the '50s.
