Open Vault
Open Vault provides online access to unique and historically important content
produced by WGBH for individual and classroom learning. The ever-expanding site
contains video excerpts, original interviews, searchable transcripts, and resource
management tools.
New Television Workshop
WGBH produced this experimental video art series 19741993. It featured artists such as Nam June Paik, Bill Viola, Laurie Anderson, Meredith Monk, William Wegman, Mary Feldhaus-Weber, Tricia Brown, and Russell Connor.
Say Brother
WGBH's longest-running public affairs TV program by, for, and about African Americans first aired in 1968 and changed its name to Basic Black in 1998. The Say Brother Web site features programs produced 19681982. Guests included activist Louis Farrakhan, literary figure Maya Angelou, sports legend Muhammad Ali, filmmaker Henry Hampton, and singer Eartha Kitt.
Ten O'Clock News
WGBH produced this nightly news program 19761991. This online collection comprises 523 news stories related to Boston's African American community, such as the court-ordered desegregation of Boston Public Schools, antiapartheid demonstrations, health care, the arts, and neighborhood issues.
