Week In Review PanelMitt Romney tries to turn an albatross into a talisman. The former Massachusetts governor addresses the health care law he once championed here in the bay state, by calling for a repeal of “Obama care.” On the heels of a gaffe over fake death photos of Osama bin Laden, are we starting to see cracks in Senator Scott Brown’s political armor? Setti Warren thinks so and he’s throwing his hat in the ring for “the people’s seat” in 2012. But is the recently elected Newton mayor jumping the gun? Plus, damning testimony in the federal corruption trial of Former House Speaker Sal DiMasi; Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver call it quits; and thumbs up, thumbs down on “botox mom” and other people, places and issues that dominated the headlines this week. We’re joined by Michal Regunberg (left), a vice president at Solomon & McCown; Boston Globe columnist Scot Lehigh (right); and Republican political consultant and commentator Charley Manning (center).

ABOUT THE EMILY ROONEY SHOW

Wednesday, March 14, 2012       Listen 897

The Great Back Bay Blackout
After a smoky electrical transformer fire knocked out power to about 21,000 homes and businesses, sections of the neighborhood are getting back online. But problems are expected to persist into tonight. We’ll have the latest.

Guests:
Garrett Quinn, WGBH contributor and author of the Less is More blog on Boston.com
Meg Mainzer-Cohen, president of the Back Bay Association
Marcia Gregg, a Back Bay resident who (along with her family) lost power (and still doesn’t have it)
David Jacobs, publisher and editor The Boston Courant, covers Back Bay, South End Beacon Hill and Fenway

The Baffler Is Back
The self-described “journal that blunts the cutting edge” is back in print after a two-year hiatus. The Baffler’s latest issue of scathing media, political and cultural criticism hits newsstands tomorrow. And no cow is sacred. (Not even the one that pays its bills).

Guests:
John Summers, editor of The Baffler
Thomas Frank, journalist and author of books like What’s The Matter With Kansas? and most recently, Pity The Billionaire. Founding editor of The Baffler
