Antiques Roadshow

Part adventure, part history lesson, and part treasure hunt, WGBH's Antiques Roadshow is PBS's highest-rated series. Each week, nearly 10 million viewers watch as leading auction house experts and independent dealers offer free appraisals of family heirlooms, yard sale bargains, and items salvaged from attics and basements, revealing the fascinating story — and, sometimes, surprising value — of each object.

Atlantic City, Hour 3

woman with bellows painting

Antiques Roadshow wraps up in Atlantic City, NJ, but not before appraisers discover a fanciful circa 1900 folk art sculpture, a 1934 New York Yankees team-signed baseball, and an early 20th-century landscape painting by American artist George Bellows, valued at $150,000.

Madison, Hour 1

Antiques Roadshow's visit to Madison, WI, begins with a detour to the Wisconsin Dells to discuss the late 19th-century stereoscopic photography of H.H. Bennett with appraiser Wes Cowan. Highlights include an Art Deco charm bracelet with a possible connection to John D. Rockefeller; an heirloom 1938 Martin D-18 guitar, highly coveted by folk and bluegrass musicians; and an angry 1976 letter from Frank Sinatra to Chicago Daily News columnist Mike Royko, auctioned off for charity by Royko and now worth $15,000.

Popular questions for Antiques Roadshow

How can I get an appraisal of my objects?

Antiques Roadshow provides only verbal evaluations in person at our events. If you are looking for an appraiser in your area, we have some suggestions to help you in your search.

How can I buy or sell an object?

We cannot give specific advice on the buying or selling of objects. The best general advice we can give is to explore all your options. Dealers, auctioneers, online, and even yard sales are all potential ways of selling or acquiring objects. All methods involve costs to sell; some involve costs to buy. Investigate costs, the type of objects being bought and sold, and, through research, make the choice that best suits your situation.

Is Antiques Roadshow available on DVD or VHS?

Antiques Roadshow is not available on DVD or VHS. A selection of episodes is available to purchase and download from iTunes for $1.99 each. You can also view select appraisals and read appraisal transcripts at the Roadshow archive.

Antiques Roadshow tours only in June, July, and August each year. Tour dates and cities are listed on the On the Road section of our website when available.
