What could $54,000 get you? Three gleaming new Toyota Corollas, 50 round trip flights from Boston to London. Or just a quarter of the way to your undergraduate degree at Harvard. Yes, college is flat out expensive. And not just the elite private universities. The price of studying and living on campus at the average public university last year was more that $20,000. With no end to rising costs in sight and technology continuing to play an ever more integral role in our lives we ask whether the college of the future is your laptop.
