Paid Sick Leave: Basic Labor Right? Or, Bad For Small Business?
After languishing for years, a bill that would require Bay State businesses to offer employees paid sick days is getting afresh look on Beacon Hill. Supporters say the new bill reduces the negativeimpact on small businesses and ensures that no Massachusetts worker is fired for getting sick. But critics disagree, warning that the costly mandate could force employers to slash jobs and other benefits.
