When & Why Did Taxes Become A Fundamental Issue In The GOP Presidential Race?
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says more than 500 pages of his 2010 and 2011 income tax returns - released today - show "full compliance" with U.S. tax laws. Romney had declined to disclose any tax information until he came under mounting criticism from his rivals, namely one Newt Gingrich. Democrats have long argued that the wealthy should pay a greater portion of America's tax burden, but interestingly this race has many Republicans gravitating toward thatconcept.
