Week In Review
WIR Panel 1118Marking a two-month milestone, members of the Occupy Movement rally en masse in cities around the country. Closer to home, despite calls for its ouster from Dewey Square, Occupy Boston scores a legal victory this week and demonstrators dig in for the long haul. Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney under fire amid reports aides to the former Massachusetts governor wiped their email trails clean on the way out the door in 2006. It’s legal – but does it violate the spirit of the public records law? More alleged victims of Jerry Sandusky come forward, as the accused former Penn State football coach breaks his silence in a potentially damning interview.

All that, plus, your letters and thumbs up, thumbs down.

This week’s panel:
  Jarrett Barrios, former state lawmaker
  Charles Chieppo, Chieppo Strategies
Wendy Kaminer, social critic and attorney

ABOUT THE EMILY ROONEY SHOW

Wednesday, March 14, 2012       Listen 897

The Great Back Bay Blackout
After a smoky electrical transformer fire knocked out power to about 21,000 homes and businesses, sections of the neighborhood are getting back online. But problems are expected to persist into tonight. We’ll have the latest.

Guests:
Garrett Quinn, WGBH contributor and author of the Less is More blog on Boston.com
Meg Mainzer-Cohen, president of the Back Bay Association
Marcia Gregg, a Back Bay resident who (along with her family) lost power (and still doesn’t have it)
David Jacobs, publisher and editor The Boston Courant, covers Back Bay, South End Beacon Hill and Fenway

The Baffler Is Back
The self-described “journal that blunts the cutting edge” is back in print after a two-year hiatus. The Baffler’s latest issue of scathing media, political and cultural criticism hits newsstands tomorrow. And no cow is sacred. (Not even the one that pays its bills).

Guests:
John Summers, editor of The Baffler
Thomas Frank, journalist and author of books like What’s The Matter With Kansas? and most recently, Pity The Billionaire. Founding editor of The Baffler
