Filene's Announces It’s Closing Shop For Good
Its been a tough few weeks for good old New England institutions. Necco Wafers sales are in the tank after an ill-fated experiment with natural flavoring. Two-scoop sundaes are a little harder tocome by with Friendly's restaurants closing left and right following the company's bankruptcy filing. And now this. Retail Concepts founding partner Michael Tesler joins us to discuss the Boston institution’s century-long run and whether it’s end was inevitable. We’ll also hear a personal anecdote from Courtney Hollands, who is senior lifestyle editor at Boston Magazine.
