Legal Round-Up: Greig Pleads Not Guilty, Inmate Sex Change, Malpractice Study
It took less than five minutes this morning for Catherine Grieg – the longtime girlfriend of reputed Boston crime boss James "Whitey" Bulger – to plead not guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to harbor and conceal a fugitive. After the arraingment, Greig’s attorney told reporters that his client has no intention of cooperating with law enforcement. We’ll discuss that and get the latest on the convicted murderer suing Massachusetts prison officials for a sex-change operation. Plus, a new Harvard study of malpractice claims shows only one in five claims against doctors leads to a settlement or other payout.
