Debt Ceiling Crisis Gets Real
From 1940 to 2010, the U.S. Congress raised the debt ceiling more than 70 times, including 18 times under President Ronald Reagan, and seven more times under George W. Bush. But it now appears the congress is prepared to allow the United States of America to default on its debts, for the first time in our history. We talk with Steve Kornacki, News Editor for the on-line magazine Salon.com, about how we got where we are and how we are going to get out of this crisis.
