Has The Legacy Of Robert F. Kennedy Been Slighted By The JFK Library?
As archivists gird to make public more than five-dozen boxes of Robert F. Kennedy’s papers at the JFK Library, the New York Times reports today that members of his family are having second thoughts about where they should be housed. Why? Because they believe that the presidential library has not done enough to honor the legacy of the president’s younger brother. Has RFK really been slighted by the JFK library? Or – as one of the Times’ sources contends – it is just that no matter how legitimate a figure in history you are, when your brother is a former president – you’re always going to be outshined. Joining me now from Washington to discuss that is the Boston Globe’s Bryan Bender.
