Casey Anthony is sentenced to four years in jail – minus time served – on charges she lied to detectives investigating the death of her daughter. After being acquitted of murder and abuse charges earlier this week – observers of the high-profile case – including cable news anchor Nancy Grace – have expressed outrage. But if prosecutors failed to prove their case, and the American justice system requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt, didn’t the system “work”?
