Sal DiMasi Guilty Of Conspiracy, Fraud And Extortion
We’re joined by Sarah P. Kelly, a lawyer with Boston law firm Nutter, McClennen & Fish to discuss the corruption trial of former House Speaker Sal DiMasi, who was found guilty this afternoon on seven of nine counts in his public corruption case. In addition to conspiracy and extortion, DiMasi was also found guilty of depriving state residents of his so-called “honest services” as a lawmaker. We take a closer look at that law – and how a supreme court ruling related to Enron changed it’s scope a year ago.
