Robert MacNeil’s Autism Now
In a career that has spanned more than 50 years, journalist Robert MacNeil has told many stories. For 20 years, he anchored the PBS NewsHour. This week, he returns to the program for the first time in more than 15 years. So what drew him back? His 6-year-old grandson, Nick, who lives right here in Cambridge. Nick has autism, an extremely common affliction that resonates deeply with MacNeil’s family and many others. In a six-part series called Autism Now, MacNeil aims to provide viewers with an authoritative, balanced look at the latest scientific research and medical thinking about Autism today.
