WAYH About Biking In Boston
Back in 2007, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino got serious about making Boston more bike-friendly. He created a program called Boston Bikes and tapped Nicole Freedman—a former Olympic cyclist with a degree in urban planning and experience as bicycle planner—to run it. From adding bike lanes and bike racks to laying the groundwork for a bike-sharing program, Freedman has been working to transform Boston into a “world class bicycling city.” With spring in the air and folks around the region dusting off their bikes after the long winter, she joins us to share what she is hearing about biking in Boston.
