Gov. Deval Patrick’s ‘Reason To Believe’
Those hoping for a political tell-all from Gov. Deval Patrick's memoir will be disappointed. In A Reason to Believe, the Massachusetts Democrat instead tells his version of the American rags to riches story, chronicling his "improbable" rise from a broken home and poverty on the South Side of Chicago to the upper echelons of American politics. Along the way, Patrick said he hopes to impart some of the lessons he's learned from family members, teachers, strangers and even a Chicago bus driver who forgave his lack of a fare. We’re joined by Boston Globe correspondent Michael Jonas, who reviewed the book for the paper this weekend. Emily Rooney is in Milton today speaking to the governor about the book, ahead of its release tomorrow. You can catch her entire interview with Governor Patrick tonight on Greater Boston at 7 p-m on Channel 2.
