Camp Good News Suicide

Camp Good News Suicide
Camp Good NewsThe mother of a man who apparently killed himself after being accused of molesting a boy at a Cape Cod youth camp linked to abuse allegations by U.S. Sen. Scott Brown says she warned camp authorities because she suspected her son was a molester. Sandra Devita says she alerted officials at Camp Good News in Sandwich years ago, but they "brushed it off." Devita says she once worked as a sex abuse counselor. Charles Devita, was found dead at the camp Wednesday. Brown wrote in his book that he had been abused at camp as a child. He did not name the camp, but Camp Good News officials apologized. A lawyer for a man who alleges he was molested by Devita says two more people have come forward alleging abuse by Devita. We get the latest from Cindy McCormick of the Cape Cod Times.

The Baffler Is Back
The self-described “journal that blunts the cutting edge” is back in print after a two-year hiatus. The Baffler’s latest issue of scathing media, political and cultural criticism hits newsstands tomorrow. And no cow is sacred. (Not even the one that pays its bills).

Guests:
John Summers, editor of The Baffler
Thomas Frank, journalist and author of books like What’s The Matter With Kansas? and most recently, Pity The Billionaire. Founding editor of The Baffler
