Special Coverage: Earthquake in Japan
Tsunami waves spawned by an eight-point-nine magnitude earthquake in Japan are rolling over Hawaii and expected to come on shore from Washington State down to California. Early reports say hundreds were killed in Japan – in what’s being called the largest tremor in that country’s modern history. We check in with professor Ken Oye of MIT, who is traveling in Tokyo with a delegation of distinguished Japanese Americans and experienced the quake first hand. We’ll also talk with Hawaii Public Radio’s Adrienne LaFrance in Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, about the extent of the damage in America’s 50th state.
