Spotlight On Education - Where has all the Homework Gone? 8/25/10
Spotlight On Education - Where has all the Homework Gone?: Since the 1960s, the amount of homework done by college students has plummeted - from 24 hours a week to just 14 hours. As our special week-long education series continues, we ask where has all the homework gone? We’re joined by: freelance writer Keith O’Brien; Sanjoy Mahajan, associate director of The Teaching and Learning Lab at MIT and a visiting associate professor of applied science at Olin College; Julie Rueben, a professor of education at Harvard University and the author of Making of the Modern University: Intellectual Transformation and the Marginalization of Morality; and Mindy Marks, an assistant professor of economics, University of California, Riverside.
