Concord Water Bottle Ban And MA Bottle Bill 7/15/10
Concord Water Bottle Ban And MA Bottle Bill:
• We’ll be joined by Jean Hill, the 82-year-old Concord resident who spearheaded the first-in-the-nation push to ban the sale of bottled water. Voters approved the ban, but Concord selectman deemed the article, set to take effect in January of 2011, unenforceable. Instead, they say they will work to curb the amount of plastic bottles sold.
• We’ll also talk to Janet Domenitz, the executive director of MassPIRG about a panel of lawmakers decision to approve an expansion of the state’s ‘bottle bill’ to include sports drinks and bottled water.
