Many women say striking the right balance between career and motherhood is one of the most stressful, heart-wrenching tasks they face.Torn: True Stories of Kids, Career and the Conflict of Modern Motherhoodis a new anthology of essays by 47 women exploring how they navigate “the need to nurture and the need for work.” The book – which was edited by Samantha Parent Walravens' – has resonated with the countless women who say they’re torn between career and family. It was also recently chosen to be the first book read and debated on the New York Times’ Motherlode blog bookclub. We’re joined by two of the book’s contributors: Lindsey Mead of Cambridge and Darcy Mayers of Marblehead.
