Sargent Shriver, 1915-2011: For all his accomplishments – Peace Corps director, ambassador, leader of the war on poverty – Sargent Shriver ultimately became known first as an in-law. The brother-in-law of President John F. Kennedy and Sen. Edward Kennedy, and father-in-law of former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, died yesterday, after being hospitalized for several days in his native Maryland. He was 95 and had suffered from Alzheimer's disease. One of the last links to President Kennedy's "Camelot," Shriver helped his late wife and Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver run the organization. Our guest Scott Stossel is deputy editor of The Atlantic and in 2004 he authored a biography of Shriver entitled, Sarge: The Life and Times of Sargent Shriver.
