Hello, I listened to the Gubernatorial debate last night and then Emily Rooneys postdebate analysis. Full disclosure I am a proud Jill Stein supporter. But beyond that, I am appalled by the comments made by the pundits, including Ms. Rooney, about Dr. Stein. Theres nothing wrong with a healthy postdebate commentary. If you believe that Jill didnt perform well, thats your right I happen to disagree, of course. But the sheer nastiness of the attack on Jill was inappropriate to the point that I would gladly call out any comment of that nature directed at ANY candidate. Some examples A. Ms. Rooney mocking Jills voice when she says "ah." God forbid, someone pauses! B. Another panelist stated that they "wanted to put an apron on [Dr. Stein]. Not only is a this tasteless, but arguably sexist remark. C. The insistence that because, in your opinions, Jill has somehow unearned her right to participate in further debates, smacks of the sorry actions by the local media to drown out her voice. As a general fan of NPR, I was extremely disheartened by this program. I believe that an apology is in order.

The Debate: Is this Tim Cahill’s last stand? Which Charlie Baker will show up? Can Jill Stein prove she belongs? Can Governor Deval Patrick hold his own? Ahead of the first big Boston media consortium debate tonight, broadcasting live from the WGBH studios, we’re devoting the entire hour to gubernatorial politics. We’ll be joined by Jennifer Nassour, chairwoman of the Massachusetts Republican party and by John Walsh, chair of the Massachusetts Democratic party. We’ll also be checking in with some of the pollsters, professors, and experts in the know about the race and the issues. Among them: Michael Widmer of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, who joins us to fact check some of the budget claims made by the candidates thus far.
