Politics Of Fed. Judge’s Health Care Ruling: A federal judge in Virginia has declared the Obama administration's health care reform law unconstitutional. U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson is the first judge to rule against the law, which has been upheld by two others in Virginia and Michigan. What will ultimately happen remains to be seen – but some argue it’s plain to see how politics have and will continue to be a factor. It’s no big surprise that the three federal judges who have weighed in so far have all been appointees of the party they’ve sided with. And what about Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney? The republican – and presumptive 2012 candidate for president – faces a formidable challenge in differentiating RomneyCare from ObamaCare. He’s playing up that in the tradition of US federalism, his version of universal health care is/was implemented at the state level – but will that argument be enough?
