New Bipartisan Bill Seeks To Crack Down On Illegal Immigration
The Secure Communities debate rages on, as a bipartisan plan gaining steam on Beacon Hill seeks to crackdown on illegal immigration. The bill would require individuals to show proof of citizenship when applying for a variety of services and jobs in the Bay State and force immigration status checks of those arrested. Supporters say it’s an urgent public safety issues, while critics say it will erode relationships between police and immigrant communities. We’ll hear from Senator Richard T. Moore, (D-Uxbridge), a co-sponsor of “An Act To Enhance Community Safety.”
