Congressional Round-up & Dismantling The Filibuster: Congress wrapped up a busy and thus not quite fittingly titled “lame duck” session yesterday. From tax cuts to a nuclear arms treaty and the repeal of the ban on openly serving gay soldiers, Congress and the Obama White House closed up their respective shops and headed out for the holidays with an uncommonly full bag of accomplishments. But as democrats and republicans alike pat themselves on the back in the spirit of bipartisanship – a trio of young democratic senators is working to combat an age old congressional tradition they say is plain dysfunctional. Joshua Green, senior editor of The Atlantic and a weekly political columnist for the Boston Globe, joins me now to discuss the efforts underway to ‘dismantle the filibuster.’
