Teaching Teachers About Cultural Diversity: Sociedad Latina, a Roxbury community youth organization, has launched a campaign to persuade city leaders to provide teachers with more cultural training. They argue that when students feel unwelcome, out of place or misunderstood they’re more likely to lose their focus, perform poorly in school and even drop out. We’re joined by Nicole d’Avis, a program director at Sociedad Latina and Chantal Soloman, who will be a sophomore at Boston Community Leadership Academy this fall.
