Boston Basks In A Much Needed Weekend Of Wins
Bruins After a miserable two-and-ten start for the Red Sox and a first round playoff series that saw the Bruins go down two-games-to-none to the hated Montreal Canadiens, Boston sports fans needed a weekend exactly like the one they just got. On Saturday night, a thrilling 2-1 victory in double-overtime gave the Bruins a hard-fought 3-games-to-2 edge in their series against the Canadiens; yesterday the Celtics completed a workmanlike sweep of the Knicks in the first round of the NBA playoffs, setting the stage for a probable second round match-up with the much vaunted Miami Heat; and not to be outdone, the Red Sox completed their own four game sweep of the Angels, winning their fifth straight overall and improving to 10-11 on the season. For the moment all seems right in the Boston sports world. Our ‘Monday morning QB’ Bob Lobel stops by to discuss how likely it is to stay that way.
