For years, Boston Herald columnist Howie Carr shone light on the dark corners of Boston’s underworld – Whitey Bulger, Stephen Flemmi, John Martorano, the Patriarca and Angiulo crime families. At one point, Carr’s reporting even earned him a place on the Winter Hill gang’s hit list. But now, 30 years later, John Martorano – one of the Winter Hill gang’s most notorious enforcers – has not only reconciled with Carr, but he’s actively participated in Howie Carr’s latest book: HITMAN: The Untold Story of Johnny Martorano: Whitey Bulger’s Enforcer and the Most Feared Gangster in the Underworld. Howie Carr joins us.
