District 3 Derby, Round 2
The Boston City Council election cycle is upon us. Today, we continue our candidate roundtables, focusing on District 3's Derby. For 18 years Maureen Feeney has been securely seated as Dorchester’s city councilor. When she announced that she would not seek a ninth term, the political enthusiasm that’s been bottled up over the years in District 3 burst forth with no end of candidates tossing their hats into the ring. There is now a total of seven on the ballot, and the roster is as diverse as the district itself. From seasoned politicos, to community activists, to small business owners—today we meet three more of the seven vying to represent Dorchester, vying to take on the challenges of this community—from preventing crime to creating jobs.
Today we hear from John O’Toole, Marydith Tuitt, and Frank Baker.
Last week, the other four candidates (Stephanie Everett, Doug Bennett, Marty Hogan, Craig Galvin) for District 3's Boston City Council seat joined us.
