Last week, Reverend Peter J. Gomes died from complications from a stroke. Yesterday, his life was celebrated and his death bemoaned at a funeral service in Plymouth, Mass.-- Gomes’ hometown. Today, we continue to honor the professor and preacher with his colleagues and friends. We're joined by Dr. S. Allen Counter, a professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School and president of The Harvard Foundation; Diana Eck, a professor of comparative religion and Indian studies at Harvard University; Rev. Ray Hammond, co-founder of the Boston 10 Point Coalition and pastor at the Bethel AME Church in Jamaica Plain; and Rev. Irene Monroe, religion columnist and Coordinator of the African American Roundtable of the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry at the Pacific School of Religion.
