Summer job prospects for teens are at record lows this summer. Locally, youth summer jobs programs have taken huge hits to their funding, and nationally just one in four teens will find a job this summer. In Boston, job prospects are even more dismal for low income youth. With summer in full force, we're looking at the market for teen jobs. We want to hear from you: How important was your first job? Are you a teen or young adult looking for a summer job? Call us at 877.301.8970.
Guests:
John Drew, Presdient/CEO of Action for Boston Community Development
Stanley Wiggins, alumni of ABCD's SummerWorks program, Youth Coordinator and Director at Tenants Development Corporation in the South End
Joseph McLaughlin, Senior Research Associate at Northeastern University's Center for Labor Market Studies
