Last week Governor Deval Patrick announced his nomination for Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Governor Patrick's choice, Judge Roderick Ireland, would replace retiring Chief Justice Margaret Marshall and would become the first African American Chief Justice on the Massachusetts court. Today, we'll discuss Judge Ireland's career, and what he'd likely bring to the Court. We're joined by Marvin Venay, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Black and Latino Democratic Legislative Caucus; and Darnell Williams, President of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts.
