On Jan. 1, 2011, the Massachusetts Hospital Association (MHA) stopped accepting employment applications from smokers. The MHA joins a growing number of employers who exclude smokers from their hiring pool. Is the decision discriminatory, or a good way to encourage healthy behavior? Callie spoke with MHA president Lynn Nicholas about what's behind the new policy, and Leonard Glantz, Professor of Health Law, Bioethics and Human Rights at the Boston University School of Public Health.
