Residents are increasingly taking safety into their own hands, with neighborhood crime watch groups cropping up at an average of one per week. We'll talk with Carolyn MacNeil, Director of the Boston Police Neighborhood Crime Watch Unit, and two residents who have recently formed groups in their neighborhoods. Trena Ambroise is head of “Redefining Our Community,” a neighborhood crime watch group in Dorchester; and Peter McNamara is founder of the Savin Hill Alert, a yahoo group that serves as an online neighborhood crime watch.
