Rebuilding Springfield
On June 1, 2011, three tornadoes ripped through a seven mile stretch of Springfield, Mass., causing tens of millions of dollars worth of damage and killing three. The tornado cut right through the middle of Springfield, directly impacting seven of the city's neighborhoods. We'll check in on the effort to rebuild Springfield as part of WGBH's "Where We Live" series.
GUESTS:
Nick Fyntrilakis: vice president for community responsibility at MassMutual Financial Group, and the chair of Develop Springfield. He co-chairs Rebuild Springfield, the public-private partnership in charge of putting together a plan to rebuild Springfield following the June tornadoes that ripped through the center of the city.
Bruce Shaw: pastor of the New Hope Pentecostal Church in Springfield, which was wiped out after the tornado hit the city in June. He is now the chair of the Rebuild Springfield Advisory Committee.
