A Different Kind of Housing Crisis
A staggering 25 percent of gay and lesbian public high school students in Massachusetts are homeless, according to a new study out of Children's Hospital in Boston. These are teens who could be couch surfing, living in shelters or even on the streets. We’ll look at what this means for youth who are susceptible to drug abuse, sexual abuse, and in some cases, suicide. We'll be joined by the study's author, Dr. Heather Corliss, with the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Boston’s Children’s Hospital; and Grace Sterling Sowell, Executive Director of BAGLY (Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender Youth).
