Contemporary artist Brendan O'Connell came back from a number of years in Europe with a goal: Paint America,For him, that turned out to mean painting Walmart. His Walmart Paintings, now on exhibit at the Lamontague Gallery in South Boston, expose the lonely beauty of the big-box store. He joins us to talk about the place that Walmart occupies in our culture, and how he captured that on canvas.
