As part of our celebration of Hip Hop Appreciation Month, today we're diving into the hip hop scene here at home. It may not be New York or LA, but Boston's hip hop scene counts some hip hop greats as its own. Boston rappers fill up clubs, and without rapper Edo G.'s venture into socially conscious lyrics, we might not have had Talib Kweli or Mos Def. Today, we look at Boston rappers' influence on hip hop. We're joined by Chris Faraone, a reporter on the Boston Phoenix and true Boston hip hop guru; and Edo G., Boston's great grandfather of hip hop.
