ACT 2: Thinking Out Loud: Session Americana's Ry Cavanaugh
Recent changes to Massachusetts fire code laws have left some small entertainment venues high and dry. Places like the legendary Club Passim in Harvard Square, have had to cut dozens of seats from their audience- putting a huge dent in their profit. As the high cost of doing business forces the closure of more and more small, locally owned entertainment venues that cater to local musicians- we look at the consequences of losing these cultural gems. How does it impact the community as a whole? Ry Cavanaugh, of the Cambridge-based band, Session Americana, joins us to talk us through it.
