The Freemasons are a famously secretive fraternal organization, with esoteric initiations and rites, and list of members that includes captains of big business, and fourteen US Presidents. But Boston Phoenix writer Eugenia Williamson found out that a new generation of Masons is being groomed from an unlikely source: the Boston rock scene. Current and ex-musicians are flocking to the centuries-old organization, not just for clandestine rituals, but also for community service and fraternity --- some serious man-time. Eugenia Williamson joins us, along with J.R. Roach, Master Mason of the Amicable Lodge in Cambridge.
